Με μεγάλη επιτυχία διοργανώθηκε ο 2ος ενδοσχολικός διαγωνισμός ζαχαροπλαστικής με θέμα "Τα μελομακάρονα της ζωής μας". Οι συμμετοχές των μαθητών μας αξιολογήθηκαν από την έγκριτη επιτροπή εκπαιδευτικών, με γαστρονομικές ανησυχίες. Οι τρεις καλύτερες συμμετοχές.....

Μία είδηση στο φύλλο της αγγλικής εφημερίδας Daily Mail, στις 27 Φεβρουαρίου 1967, τράβηξε την προσοχή του Paul McCartney, μέλους των Beatles. Έγραφε για ένα 17χρονο κορίτσι, τη Melanie Coe, το οποίο είχε φύγει από το σπίτι της, αφήνοντας πίσω μια άνετη ζωή και δύο μπερδεμένους γονείς.

Καθώς περπατάς στον κήπο του Δον Κορλεόνε και μυρίζεις τα ευωδιαστά γιασεμιά, βλέπεις μπρος σου ξαφνικά τις φουντωμένες πορτοκαλιές. Όμορφα, ολοστρόγγυλα πορτοκάλια, έτοιμα να σκάσουν κάτω στην γη, ζουμερά και ώριμα με το γλυκό ζουμί τους να στάζει στο χώμα και να ξεδιψά τις ρίζες του μεγάλου δέντρου. Σαν χαζέψεις κοιτάζοντας εκείνο το γλυκό χυμό τους νομίζεις πως αλλάζει χρώμα, σκουραίνει, γίνεται κόκκινο.
